This is off-topic. I only choosed -Syy to get progress bars every time I try. Yesterday I tried 20 times and more within 5 minutes to test ssh and pacman options and I want to get reliable progress bars. In production script of course -Syu is used 
The only difference between -Syy and -Syyu would have been the sentence “everything up to date”.
