Pretty fast 
It is in the repos!
I got caught out with my update by getting the main driver when the 32 bit libs had not been released so steam didn’t work. Fortunately they came quickly and steam is working again.
I checked out the xwayland nvidia support last night. It does indeed work, but I was experiencing some massive screen tearing in Mass Effect 3 when the camera was panning left right that went away when I went back to X.
Admittedly this is a limited test 
But I was using prime-render as well which I was surprised actually worked.
It is indeed a step in the correct direction.
