userspace is still closed, this is still mostly not usable without nvidia.
kinda but not exactly, Nouveau still cant reclock the GPU at this time afaik even with this release. If we’re lucky maybe in the future but at this time its stil DOA for anything beyond kepler. This also leaves everything between kepler and turing dead for anything but proprietary.

In the meantime, published source code serves as a reference to help improve the Nouveau driver. Nouveau can leverage the same firmware used by the NVIDIA driver, exposing many GPU functionalities, such as clock management and thermal management, bringing new features to the in-tree Nouveau driver.
