Noob question: how to check ram frequency (mhz) on linux

By the way, you can also check BIOS info with dmidecode.
If you want to know your current bios version just run “dmicecode -t bios”.

Your board is M4A79XTD EVO BIOS 2102
Latest BIOS on the ASUS page for this board is 2102. There is no update available.

looks like the issue is related to the bios settings (voltage etc), reading online i read this mobo supports 1800mhz with overclock but i’d be fine with 1600 only

I went to bios > Advanced > JumperFree configuration > Memory frequency : changed from AUTO to 1600, that’s everything i did, my corsair vengeance is 8gb and 1.5v

I have one doubt, is this safe to use without dual channel ? (i only have one ram module installed so no dual channel for now

I should mention that i left legacy USB support option enabled, i am not sure how this affects changing the memory frequency
