# Noctalia V5 has moved from the AUR to the Arch Extra Repositories

Hi Everyone

Good news, Noctalia V5 is now an official Arch package. I just switched to it from the AUR package myself.

Hmmm…not surprised that **Noctalia** made the jump, just wondering why it was done before the stable release was ready.

Until Arch makes an announcement, my guess is trusted/popular packages will be adopted to the Arch repository instead of hanging out in the AUR. The question is what is the criteria.

Maybe some of these Github/Gitlab projects will have new criteria to harden them from AI hacking.

It will be a nice world if many of these AI companies were prosecuted for general harm to society at large, but alas, money speaks louder.
