you could see if it is working on livesession of the iso… thats older kernel and older systemd too

I tried downgrading to LTS, I believe kernel 6.4 and now RT, kernel 6.10 and still nothing. I’ll look into the live session and after that, it’s a clean install again. Thanks

if it does work on live and not on LTS… it looks like systemd …

There seems to be a lot of grumble with systemd. I’m not well-versed in it at all. Do you think I should do a deep dive or would a reinstall be better at this stage considering my level?

Mystery solved… perhaps. I booted with the live image and fired up VLC which recognized my USB 3 video camera. After that, I rebooted with the RT kernel and fired up OBS, and lo and behold, the camera now works!

Crossing fingers. I’ll cautiously go forward…
