No update via yay and incorrect program installations

Hi,

I have Endeavour installed on my pc. However, I have problems with updating the system and installing the programs per yay. I have updated the mirrorlists several times, but this has not helped.

Sometimes it works after some waiting time, but most of the time it does not work at all. I have the problem when updating with yay, as well as when updating.

As I said, I have now recreated and saved the mirror list several times. Without success.

Did you update the endeavouros mirror list as well as the arch mirror list?

Maybe there is a mirror in the list is an issue. Could you try a different county when updating the arch mirrors such as US?

I have now selected the USA, but it still does not work.

However, I have found that the yay update goes through fine when I use a VPN connection with ProtonVPN.

Oh you didn’t mention you were using a vpn? How were you using it without the vpn? Did you just set it up? Don’t forget there is a firewall.

It looks like potentially a dns problem.

Sometimes vpn connections fail to reset your DNS servers when they disconnect.

I had not used a VPN before and just set it up when I had several failed attempts with yay. I set up a VPN connection via the network manager.

edit: I have now changed the DNS server in Endeavour and yay runs through. It seems that the DNS from my internet provider is having trouble.
