Truthfully, I’m not 100% certain I remember. I know I started using it years ago to add functionality to Dolphin, and I always install it as one of the first things I do with a new set-up (if it isn’t installed with KDE).
I believe these extend functionality that can be ticked on/off under Dolphin > Preferences > Services, and that they affect the services/ functions shown in the corresponding context menus.
As I’m sure you’ve seen, here’s what the package listing says it provides:
/usr/lib/qt/plugins/fileviewbazaarplugin.so
/usr/lib/qt/plugins/fileviewdropboxplugin.so
/usr/lib/qt/plugins/fileviewgitplugin.so
/usr/lib/qt/plugins/fileviewhgplugin.so
/usr/lib/qt/plugins/fileviewsvnplugin.so
/usr/lib/qt/plugins/kf5/kfileitemaction/mountisoaction.so
/usr/share/config.kcfg/fileviewgitpluginsettings.kcfg
/usr/share/config.kcfg/fileviewhgpluginsettings.kcfg
/usr/share/config.kcfg/fileviewsvnpluginsettings.kcfg
/usr/share/kservices5/fileviewbazaarplugin.desktop
/usr/share/kservices5/fileviewdropboxplugin.desktop
/usr/share/kservices5/fileviewgitplugin.desktop
/usr/share/kservices5/fileviewhgplugin.desktop
/usr/share/kservices5/fileviewsvnplugin.desktop
… and a bunch of corresponding message files.
Perhaps a KDE guru can weigh in to help me out of my foggy (and likely wrong) explanation?
Best Regards,
BK
Edit: I think they also/ alternatively provide additional file-type previews found under Dolphin > Preferences > General > Previews tab.
