As Iā€™ve two graphics cards, what is the proper way of install, enabling Bumblebee?
Should I just install this package
or install with pacman -Syuq --noconfirm --noprogressbar --needed bumblebee

Then

gpasswd -a user bumblebee
gpasswd -a user video
systemctl enable bumblebeed.service

So it shows itā€™s rendering on the nvidia.

Edit: Isnā€™t that what you wanted?
Edit2: Check your GPU usage now.

Is it working for you? What is your hardware? Post the link.

Check your GPU usage now

:ok_hand: Thanks.
Iā€™ll install bumblebee & see how it works.

This is a desktop? Not sure why you want to use both gpu? You could just disable the onboard Intel graphics in the Bios settings and just use the Nvidia?

Edit: Of course is your choice. You can try bumble bee and see if that works for you. Iā€™ve not seen this done on desktop mostly on laptops that are hybrid graphics.

Edit: Let us know how and if it works for you.

Let us know how and if it works for you.

IDK if I did anything wrong after installing bumblebee & rebooting it stuck on boot screen for 5-10mins.
So I chrooted & removed the package, updated Grub & restart. Now back to system.

For future reference:
Another way of installing the driver https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/191232/en-us/, the benefit is you can update driver easily.

But Iā€™m not gonna complicate things further & install that .run file. I think itā€™s better to use AUR package (personally I donā€™t use GPU that much anyway) than experimenting everything without experience & somehow break system again.
Should experiment things on VM instead.

Thankyou everyone for all your suggestions & help

BTW just noticed it also fixed my Calibre issue (faced ever since Iā€™m using EOS) without changing anything.

Iā€™m not sure i would even use bumblebee. Have you tried any of the other methods such as optimus-manager?

yay -S optimus-manager

Tried twice, both times failed to boot, chrooted & removed optimus for the fix.

Now when I run nvidia-inst

IDK if I should run those commandsā€¦

Why are you doing this again? I thought you had already installed the nvidia drivers with yay from the other day?

Edit: If you donā€™t have the nvidia drivers installed anymore then you need to install them again with yay from the AUR.

Edit: Show output

Sorry just noticed it, I didnā€™t run those commands.
nvidia drivers are installed from AUR :+1:

Nvidia drivers are already installed. What error messages did you get trying to install optimus-manager?

As i asked the other day? Why on a desktop do you want to use both gpu? It is not a hybrid system. Normally on laptops one does this to save battery power as Intel uses less power. So using Nvidia only when necessary for games etc.

Installed & rebooted successfully.

What is installed and rebooted successfully? optimus-manager?

Edit: Or you meant the nvidia drivers?

optimus-manager. Yes

Okay ā€¦
Have you tested if it works?

Nah, again stuck on boot screenā€¦ (again removed optimus)
No errors only WARNING: Using existing $srcdir/ tree when installing optimus-manager

I think thatā€™s just a message coming from the pkg build. Like i said before i you have a desktop correct? You have onboard intel graphics and nvidia dedicated graphics card. Is it hooked up to only one monitor? Is that hooked to the nvidia card connection? There must be also a vga connection on the computer or other. You canā€™t switch to other graphics port if nothing is hooked up to it first of all. If itā€™s hooked up to the nvidia card port itā€™s not going to output the Intel graphics through the nvidia card. Iā€™m just not sure what you are doing?
