[Newbie] [installation] Failing to open Calamares System installer off the live ISO

Hello everyone, I am new here. I am trying to install endeavourOS on a new Lenovo IdeaPad using a 7gb USB drive. I have successfully booted from the USB and activated the live ISO, have connected to the internet, however I am not able to open Calamares. Whenever I try the loading icon is there but it does not open the application. When I try it from the terminal, I get:

ERROR: Cowardly refusing to continue startup without settings.

“/etc/calamares/settings.conf”

“usr/share/calamares/settings.conf”

static Calamares : : Settings* Calamares : : Settings : : init(bool)

ERROR: FATAL: none of the expected configuration file paths exist.

I have since tried using Pacman to reinstall calamares, to which it downgraded it from version 26.03.2.3-8 26.03.2.3-1. it successfully downgraded but when I tried it again yet once more it showed me the exact same error.

Any help on this will be appreciated. Thank you

Sounds like a bad ISO.

Where did you get the ISO from?

Greece, since Geographically that’s the closest to me.

how you create the install media ?

In general Welcome app should automatically start with the ISO livesession and you have to start installer over welcome app.

If this does not happen ISO is not correctly written to the boot media.

I used usbinstaller to write the ISO onto the usb drive in windows.

Done, I’ll use this from now on, seems much more useful.
