The other month I migrated from Cinnamon to Plasma. I hadn’t long discovered the usefulness of Nemo’s favourites feature, whereupon you can favourite a file and it appears at the top of the file listing regardless of sorting etc. Is there some equivalent feature for Dolphin, or at least some way to avoid scrolling down through a long list of files to locate a file?
It isn’t exactly what you are looking for but I leave the filter box permanently visible and filter for files which is very fast.
Go properties details on the file/directory and give it a rating, then view > sort by rating
