Multilib in der pacman.conf notwendig?

Hallo Forum,

demnächst (im Weihnachtsurlaub) soll mein neues Laptop mit Endeavour bespielt werden. Einen Test auf VirtualBox habe ich probiert und Endeavour gefällt mir. Es wird allerdings wohl nicht KDE sondern Gnome-Flavour werden (mit Wayland als Fenstermanager). Auf meinem alten Laptop läuft ein ArchLinux in der Variante.

Mir ist nun aufgefallen, dass Endeavour in der /etc/pacman.conf auch Einträge für [multilib] freischaltet. Von Arch kenne ich das nur für den Fall, dass man auch 32-bit-Libs braucht. Das ist aber eigentlich nicht der Fall.

Maine Frage: braucht Endeavour diese Einträge? Wofür? Oder reicht - wie bei Arch - [core] und [extra] in der pacman.conf? (testing würde ich nicht wählen).

You can find out which packages are from a specific repo by using paclist.

Example:

paclist multilib

If there are packages from multilib installed, you can use pacman -Qi pkgName to find out what it is a dependency of.

thank you. Did not know about paclist command so far.

So, I will try that after install and see, which packages are there and which I will need.

Short edit: after setting up the system I checked with paclist. Result: multilib is not required and I removed/commented out that entry.
