I am an optimist so I look at Microsoft bringing in more big picture open source thinkers as the next step of their culture changing towards more open source.

I just keep in mind that good things never happen WITHOUT optimism. In this case, he’s been around long enough to know what he wants to accomplish, and to recognize if it isn’t happening…

Right, because money has really put a big dent in all of the contributions Redhat, Suse, and Ubuntu make to opensource projects. I don’t trust MS but opensource needs money to be involved whether we like it or not. Developers do not live on air.

Technically they do just like the rest of us. No air=No life.
But I do agree with the gist of what you’re saying.
