mpv drops frames with this message:

```auto
Audio/Video desynchronisation detected! Possible reasons include too slow
hardware, temporary CPU spikes, broken drivers, and broken files. Audio
position will not match to the video (see A-V status field).
Consider trying `--profile=fast` and/or `--hwdec=auto` as they may help.
AV: 00:10:39 / 00:20:00 (x%) A-V: 0.000 Dropped: 375
```

And of course, trying `--profile=fast` or ``--hwdec=auto` doesn’t work.

I think this started happening from `0.40`.

I found a `0.39` version Appimage on kde store and it worked without dropping frames. But some things don’t work, like there’s no progress bar, volume, etc.

I should also mention this that I use an external monitor with laptop display turned off and an external speaker. Also, just playing on laptop only also drops frames.

And my old laptop without Nvidia card had this same problem as well.

```auto
CPU: 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13420H @ 12x 4.6GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050
