Morning routine

I stay up early every morning.
The internet is switched on by a timer at 6:30 a.m.

Then I turn on the firewall and the computer.

I begin to work at the computer.

my morning computer routine, starting on a x86_64 AMD machine:

After boot up, Check my VPN status.

Use the welcome screen to check ā€œUpdate Native & AUR Packages (yay)ā€, and check ā€œpacdiff and meldā€

If there are updates that @Manuel made in the EnOS x86_64 repo, Synchronize the EnOS ARM repo to match the x86-64 repo.

If there was a new x86_64 Kernel version released, fire up an aarch64 machine and compile a new aarch64 version of the Kernel, test it, and make it available in the EnOS ARM repo.

Check E-mail
Check if my web server is up and running.
Go to the EndeavourOS forum and see what is happening.

Once every 10 days to 14 days, create new ARM images for RPi 4b, RPi 5, Odroid N2, and Pinebook Pro laptop. Test the images, then push them to Github.

After that, since I am retired, I have nothing else to do and all day to do it.

Well for me it depends if I’m working or not and if from early morning or from 15:00 kl

But if I’m free:

1 Take dog out, wash him.
2 Feed the beast(dog, a Royal Dachshund).
3 Make Coffee for me and Wife(if she’s not working)
4 turn on Computer, checking for updates while sipping Coffee.
5 what ever else like Talk to wife.

I can relate to this humor . . . to the point.

My last place of employment was the most interesting in my life. . . nothing to scoff about but very interesting . . . a true learning experience both in terms of being physical with mental challenges. It gave me some sense of real purpose with little regrets. I did enjoy my work. . .

KAlarm sets me up - rtcwake at 5.59, giving it time to settle - I get an alert to wake up, then another one to GTFO of bed in case I skipped the first one for a snooze.

If I’m up at the first alert, I can reach for the keyboard and mess around for 20 minutes before I have to cook breakfast and do other stuff.

Currently I’m a little obsessed with a new keyboard, PBT caps feel so old-school (and it’s retro coloured, shades of IBM in there) but my typing speed is barely better than the old Membrane because I am not used to lighter switches - so right now a daily Monkeytype to get more comfortable and also an order for some even quieter, but also tactile, switches from Aliexpress (arrives in another 2 weeks).

So on the Logitech, I think I was doing 50wpm on average, but now it’s improving, around 80 on monkeytype (which is simplistic, but a reasonable metric).

I get up each morning and dust off my wits
Open the paper and read the obits
If I’m not there, I know I’m not dead
So I eat a good breakfast and go back to bed

You forgot to call decompose(climate) in the outer else clause.

Not so much… coffee , breakfast mastodon rss-feeds telegram food for work and off…

Please don’t use decompose anymore. It’s deprecated and will be removed in one of our next updates.
There have been issues with the function being addressed incorrectly on self, which caused critical system failures which are irreversible and can not be mitigated, even the sleep state couldn’t be activated anymore, retroactively. Essentially taking the whole system offline, with the state machine permanently deactivated. Without being flagged as dead, until the decomposition is completed. Which is essentially a state which should be technically be infeasible. Which has been a huge oversight by our dev team… our apologies to those which aren’t dead yet. But already decomposing.

Edit: I guess I really should flag this as /sarcasm.
