My fav metal band is Helloween, i love that kind of making power metal… but i like satyricon, marduk, stratovarious, rhapsody, paradise lost, kamelot as well.

I really like the first album and ep from Helloween (self-titled and Walls of Jericho). Just a little too much Power Metal for my tastes, it’s probably because those first two are more Thrashy than Power.
Power Metal is one part of the all encompassing genre that is Metal that just doesn’t quite click with me. It never has, I have always liked the darkness of Black Metal and the brutality of Death Metal so much more.
Yeah… Helloween’s first era was kinda speed metal then they founded power metal… i like power metal, but not all power metal bands… just a few bands only, i think most Power bands are just copies of helloween, blind guardian or rhapsody…
I love black metal as well, norwegian and swedish flavors above all… but i dont like very much death metal, a matter of tastes i guess.

Not so much black though (at least pure)

@AngeVM Nevermore are a great band but I’m not sure I’d class them as Power though… sort of more a Thrashy Prog.
@keybreak I LOVE Black Metal and Death Metal. Just so many good things about them.

They simply had a unique sound, and Warrel Dane had a unique voice. I really like them.
I’m not very much into that band… i think i only listened a few songs from them, their last albums are melodic…
I really rate This Godless Endeavor. Epic album.

Currently obsessed with Tribulation from Sweden 
. They started out as a very nice OSSDM band and have evolved into a VERY cool Gothic Metal sound. So, so good.
