# Media shortcuts not working properly after recent update

Using the Plexamp player from Aur. I used to be able to play / pause / volume control /next & prev track with my keyboard media buttons without use of the function key. Recent system update changed this behaviour and I can’t find any setting to revert this. I haven’t updated Plexamp since the Aur has been vulnerable.

Others with this issue?

The Plexamp version from Discovery does work properly in terms of the media shortcuts, but that has been plagued by some sound issues when rebooting the system. This is why I haven’t used it in a long while and preferred the Aur appimage version.
