Looking for a text expander. Autokey not working?

Hi all,

I need a text expander so I decided to install Autokey as I found this was one of the few options.

It runs, but it doesn’t seem to expand any of my abbreviations or actually function (paste anything).

Does anytone have any experience with autokey and know why it might not be working?

I installed the QT version from the AUR.

Otherwise if anyone has some alternatives, let me know!

EDIT: I found that it works fine in X11 but not Wayland. I assume this is up to the devs to sort out but if anyone knows a workaround in Wayland, please let me know.

In the future (maybe for another year or so - not forever), any time something isn’t working when you’re in Wayland, check “X11” so you can narrow down the issue.

The Appimage specifically says “X11”, though. :eyes:

Thanks! I had forgotten about Espanso and it supports Wayland.
