I love the implementation of i3wm on EOS, and the wallpaper and tools of course. The community is unbelievable nice and helpful. So yeah it’s worth switching from Arch to eos even if it is the same underlying system from my perspective
you might install your system more than once, maybe on several rigs.
Worth noting that you can also install the EndeavourOS i3wm config post-install if you want to test it after you’ve installed another DE or if you want to use it on another distro
Thanks to you and your post @runarcn, I successfully tried out EnOS’s i3wm in a VM, today. The EnOS-VM had Plasma on it, and I installed i3wm alongside to it.
It is my first time ever on i3wm and I like it a lot after 2-3 hours of testing, and customizing a few little things. Still have to get used to the keybindings and shortcuts, especially since not all of the EnOS keybindings do actually seem to work in a VM on MacOS, with an Apple USB-keyboard. …or I just have to practice more. ![]()
Anyway, I’m beginning to really appreciate the EnOS-i3wm !
Thanks @joekamprad! ![]()
I have Apple Us keyboard .
Some shortcut can conflict (Modifier keys)
if no use keyboard shortcut on MacOs ? ( Most normal Mac usr have zero clue they there)
you can turn off .
( setting, keyboard,Modifier keys ) on Mac. also you can turn off vm key shortcuts.
I find replace “Super” for “Alt” in WM config or sxhkdrc ( need careful no get conflicts as “Alt” some time use for thing to ) help lot in VMs on Mac as I use shortcuts on Mac also
At end of day it Your system so your rule ![]()

Welcome @defcantgame
Do you consider Arch Linux a good choice for coding?
If you ask me I’d say yes, I mean for me able to find the right tools i need and get latest packages to take advantage of some features while customizing the setup so it caters towards something that removes some distraction other distros often have and focus on coding.
Now that I am on EndeavourOS i have been venturing out of KDE and messing around with Budgie and a few others getting a feel for the eOS way of doing things and enjoying the community
