I wanted to change my login screen (SDDM) by a new theme with the system configuration tool. The update is not taken into account. Does anyone have an idea?
Sometimes you have to highlight a different theme and then click the one you want before hitting “apply”. It depends on the state of the dialogue when you enter it.
If pressing apply doesn’t ask you for your password, it didn’t work.
In my case, it asks me for my password. I enter it and “Apply” turns gray.
But this is not taken into account.
Are you sure you are looking at sddm and not the lock screen? sddm only runs when you logout or reboot. The lock screen is part of plasma and has separate config.
