Having just installed EOS on another PC I see that the Log out etc. Screen was as expected, Large central Icon followed by a list below offering Log Out-Restart-Shutdown and Cancel. However after making some changes to general appearance the list of options has (Once again) Disappeared. The background has changed from a fuzzy grey colour to Black.
Appearance changes were reverted but situation remained unchanged so I am ruling out that factor. Can anyone explain to me what actually causes this to happen? Bear in mind that during installation a fully updated system is installed.
Could you share a screenshot just so I can see what you mean?
No way to take an actual screenshot. So it will be two images taken with my ‘phone of Before and After.
If you go into system settings type in the search box SDDM and click on the option given, there you can make a choice of login screens. As a side note even changing the theme to e.g. default this does not always mean the login screen will not change to default, it has been that way for many years, don’t ask me why.
This seems to be a Apple computer , and I don’t have any knowledge of that.
Yeah, looks like an older iMac.
Yer sorry not too sure and can’t seem to find anything.
Hint for future - I think spectacle (screenshot) is install by default, you can set it on a delay to take screenshots of things like this.
By way of reference. Both images taken on 27” imacs, both same models. One has Manjaro installed the other Has EndeavourOS. I have a Lenovo Laptop that I will install EOS for comparison.
I’m just wondering if maybe this is a driver issue as I can’t find anything like this but I can find issues for older versions where it becomes a black screen or freezes on macs
Its happened on both - 2015 models- but not when Manjaro is installed. The only difference I can see is that Manjaro is still on Plasma 6.5 and EOS is on 6.6.
Thinkpad just finished installing EOS. will check and come back later.
Sorry accidentally clicked that and then clicked it again after.
This may be it, I think they made some changes to it in the last update
Got it! Its a change to the Plasma style to Blur-Glassy! Changing back to any other style and problem is gone. Obviously not affecting Plasma 6.5 on Manjaro, just 6.6.on EOS.
Cool, awesome to hear you solved it
