I have no problem playing h.265 videos.
Whether or not a TV plays H.265 videos is entirely dependant on the model of TV. So it’s both not surprising it works for you @ricklinux
and also likely unrelated to @drunkenvicar’s ability to play H.265 on his 10 year old Samsung TV ![]()
Unless of course, you both have the same model 10 year old Samsung TV.
Yeah.. I got a cheap television from a local brand. Was surprised to see it supported h265. Made me think its really universal these days to have h265 support.
Any modern android tv should be able to play x265 in 4k just fine. I have a cheap chinese tv with android in it. It has a very low end chip and just 2gb ram. i use kodi and it can play anything i throw at it. Vlc and mx player also work.
If your tv is older and doesn’t provide hw acceleration, depending on the chip that you have, software rendering would alao work. Try Kodi. It does a better job than other players.
