Yes well done on the job, It must be very stressful for you
Watching Liverpool-Arsenal Community Shields match and having a tasteful beer. Perfect…
Coke (the beverage).
Nice to hear. Is it a different organization? Or a new role within?
It’s the same organization, but a completely different department. Considering the size, it might as well be considered a different organization however
I’m bad, I’m decadent…
Love it!
(I really miss those emojis…)
It was last night, but close enough. Single Cut makes some really good stuff, give them a try if you can get any of it.
Nitro milk stout. I feel like you know me.
I had a Guinness extra Stout for the NFL kick off tonight. I was so excited I forgot to take a photo.
If anyone wants to catch the second half with me.
Maybe a brother from another mother. You can’t go wrong with a Guinness
I’ve got the game on here too. More of a college fan normally, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen this year…
I’ve always been an NFL fan. I grew up with Patriots tickets as a kid for a while. There’s nothing I like more than being at a game. I almost got Rams tickets to the new stadium this year and I’m glad I didn’t now with the covid nonsense. Maybe next year.
But a milk stout. . . That’s just what dreams are made of. I like Guinness. It’s not my favorite, but I grabbed it at the grocer earlier and they didn’t really have anything overly interesting. But I needed a beer for the game.
My team is getting blown out so I’ll celebrate Oktoberfest a little early. The local brewery released these recently and I picked some up over the weekend. So far so good.
(Edit: Not sure why the pic is sideways, but okay whatever )
Kilkenny Irish red ale on nitro tap.
Delicious Irish red with a very creamy texture, amplified by the creaminess of the nitrogen. Paired very well with bar chips and some hot wings.
Not a bad way to end an early work day. I had to send everyone home because the smoke is so bad from the wild fire here the wife and I went to lunch.
My firend @Kresimir mentioned this Croatian powdered drink mix called Cedevita and spoke highly of it at a different forum; of course I had to try it, and of course I found some available on Amazon. They have several flavors; I chose lemon.
Very good! It mixes smoothly with water - there’s no grittiness like you get with, for example, Tang - and the flavor is great. Not too sweet, with a nice sour tartness that is very refreshing.
Buying it via Amazon is a little expensive, but I will definitely be buying more nonetheless. I wouldn’t mind finding a more economical source, though - time to start Googling.
Thanks for the recommendation, @Kresimir - I like it a lot.
If you are from Balkan, you have to know Cedevita!
Maybe @Kresimir is willing to send it to you directly instead of buying it on Amazon?! Otherwise I will tell my parents to bring me some next time they are visiting me and I will send it over to you.
Thanks, I’ll let you know - I am going to ask a couple of specialty shops here in my town if they can get it. I hope they can.
I’m drinking some cold Greek rose wine tonight.
I’m Belgian, heavy beer is our thing
Kasteelbier is really nice, but I wouldn’t drink it out of Leffe glass. The original glass is so much cooler, with the little castle on the bottom:
Regarding Cedevita, the two original flavours are Orange and Lemon, and they are the best (I like Lemon a bit better, because Orange is the “normal one”). They are very similar, with that artificial citrus flavour, citric acid and mild sweetness, Orange being slightly sweeter and less sour than Lemon.
There is also Grapefruit flavour, which is similar to Lemon, only slightly bitter and Lime is also quite nice. The other flavours, the modern ones, like Raspberry, Elderberry, etc… are all pretty awful, and I recommend staying away from them.
Cedevita is pretty versatile. The “normal” way to prepare it is with ice cold water (some people like it stronger, some weaker). But when I was a child, during the economic crisis in the '80s before the collapse of communism, we didn’t have lemons readily available (even though Croatia is a rather good place to grow lemons), so we added Cedevita to hot tea. Also, there are recipes from that time for cakes (like lemon tart) which use Cedevita as replacement for lemons or oranges.
