Moderation Brewing (Brunswick ME) Farmor farmhouse-style ale.
As always, apologies for the crappy photo - my phone is one step away from a potato.)
It’s a little odd. It’s all green pea notes on the nose, and sure enough, the flavor profile leans heavily towards green pea. It’s just a bit earthy, with some mild citrus-ish hops floating on top. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this before.
Not bad at all, but again…it’s a little odd. As I get more accustomed to it, it’s getting more and more rewarding with each sip. I’ll buy it again.
that’s not a bad scent blended with malt and the light citrus methinks . earthy stuff is not often but intrigues me as a creative choice by its creator. Kind of bold. Sometimes these ideas work, sometimes they don’t. gut feel, taste, and buzz are my criteria these days …
. Rock on.
Barreled Souls Brewing (Saco Maine USA) Peaches Come From A Can fruited sour ale. A sour ale with peach, vanilla, and Graham cracker.
It’s wonderful. Like light syrup from a can of peaches (but fresher tasting) mixed with a little bit of really good, aged balsamic vinegar. It’s on the subtle side - not sweet, not tart, just the right amount of sour…delicious.
Apologies for the crappy photo, I might be a bit tipsy ![]()
