Lenovo G530 (4446) reboots midway through booting EndeavourOS

I’ve been trying to boot EndeavourOS (and for that matter Vanilla Arch) on my system for quite a while now, and it reboots midway through the boot process every time, whether I use the first boot option (https://youtu.be/jKfpDT4i9UU) or nomodeset (https://youtu.be/92QwfKAM_bU). I’m using the latest ISO as of Jul 21, 2022.

I used etcher to flash everything, and tried a couple boot options. iommu=off basically got me the same result, and acpi=off, when in combination with nomodeset, got me past that barrier, but I couldn’t get into any GUI, as Xorg failed to start - (https://youtu.be/ueALth51rpE).

I can get into the latest Debian, so I can collect any Debian logs if that helps.

Try to add i915 and intel in the module_blacklist=

Welcome to the forum @netw0rkingn3rd :enos: :enos_flag: :tada:

I would suggest trying other methods as well.
Also, confirm your BIOS is configured properly.

As I recall there is (or was) a problem with Belena Etcher. Try Ventoy (a slight learning curve), or Suse Writer (point, click and drag) instead.

This was ment for the OP.

Gave both Ventoy and Rufus (dd mode) a try - made no difference

Still reboots

with acpi off and nomodeset?

With acpi=off and nomodeset it does the same thing as in the last video I linked

try with or without xf86-video-intel

The issue I’m trying to solve is the rebooting midway through the boot process - the video module loads just fine
