Bump

Please help my laptop freezes 4-5 times a day and unoperational

Which DE are you using?

You are seeing recurring errors with your wireless drivers. I am not sure if that is related to your freezing issues. It looks like the X11 process is hung waiting on another resource.

What is your specific hardware? Please share inxi -Fxxxz

I believe I have installed packages that is causing problem
The frequency has increased to 6-10 freeze per day. Audio keeps running uptil some point. Thanks to magic key reboot suggested in another thread, I am not doing a hard reboot.

What do you think

probably some graphics hardware/driver issue. try using wayland, maybe a different desktop environment

How do I switch to wayland? I only have intel onboard as video card on this laptop

What browser are you using?

Librewolf and Firefox

Uninstalling librewolf to see any help

Librewolf and superproductivity-bin uninstallation helped. Marking as resolved.

Hi, It occurred again. The frequency from 5-6 times has greatly reduced to once in 2-3 days. Please any troubleshooting.

can you send a full log? don’t put it here, do it how it’s described here https://discovery.endeavouros.com/forum-log-tool-options/how-to-include-systemlogs-in-your-post/2021/03/

It happened twice in 1 hour now. created this logs

If I keep my laptop idle for 20 mins after powering on to reach login screen. It gets stuck without even logging in. I can see UI, no other SU can be done. Thank goodness the magic key alt +sy req+REISUB reboots safely.

Please help me

journalctl -b -0 # last boot
journalctl -b -1 # boot before last
journalctl -b -2 # and two boot before last

send the -b -1 log after you restart from crash, b0 is the current running system

Like already mentioned, there is an issue with your wifi adapter, the power managemet handling is poor, the driver hangs and then your whole system “freezees”

From older logs

Dec 25 13:35:45 kts00 kernel: rtw_8821ce 0000:01:00.0: firmware failed to leave lps state

Newer logs also show driver queue getting stuck

Dec 30 09:04:13 kts00 kernel: rtw_8821ce 0000:01:00.0: timed out to flush queue 2
Dec 30 09:04:13 kts00 kernel: rtw_8821ce 0000:01:00.0: timed out to flush queue 2

Dec 30 09:04:15 kts00 kernel: rtw_8821ce 0000:01:00.0: timed out to flush queue 2

Try adjusting power management for your wifi adapter, more details here https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=215496#c22

I followed this for power save

May I know what other config to make? Where should I add this lines

please also try below two ko options, and do cold reboot.

rtw88_core
  disable_lps_deep=y
rtw88_pci
  disable_aspm=y

I did power save setting only.

Location -> /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d
ls -> default-wifi-powersave-on.conf  disable-random-mac.conf
cat * ->

[connection]
wifi.powersave = 2
[device]
wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no

It worked for several hours fine. I saw wifi issue less, bluetooth headset worked fine as well. It again froze. Following are the logs

journalctl -b -1 | eos-sendlog
https://0x0.st/HEF8.txt

inxi -Faz --no-host | eos-sendlog
https://0x0.st/HEFK.txt

sudo dmesg | eos-sendlog
https://0x0.st/HEFP.txt

It worked for 5 mins after last magic key reboot. Again stuck
Another fresh log

journalctl -b -1 | eos-sendlog
https://0x0.st/HEFu.txt

sudo dmesg | eos-sendlog
https://0x0.st/HEFQ.txt
