Prior to the Krita 6 update, adding text was simple. Click the “T” for the text tool, drag a box and placeholder text would appear along with a text box to change fonts, size, etc…
Now with Krita 6, that seems to have changed.
Any idea on how to use the new text tool? I’ve searched the web with no luck.
I tried:
Settings → Dockers
and made sure Text Properties was checked. It was unchecked by default on my system.
Does that bring up the text docker you are looking for? I haven’t used Krita much so not too sure about the tool layouts.
There is some chatter on reddit about Krita 6 if you want to search there.
Edit - Enabling that docker worked. It was just buried and I couldn’t get at it. Some docker arrangement management will be required on my end.
Nope…
I’m looking for this, original option…
EDIT:
Looked at yours again, found it on the side. Nowhere near as intuitive.
I built a custom toolbar. Not sure what those last 3 on your toolbar are. Opacity, Size ??? but if you know the name, they can be added.
I’ll tinker later. Off to work for now. But this is definitely nowhere near as intuitive or easy to use as before.
I also found a button in the text’s Tool Options:
On one hand the textbox input had to be replaced with live editing - it’s not 2005 anymore. So
for that. On the other hand the Text Properties are a little bit hidden in this first iteration.
I’ll check that out when I get home from work. Thanks!
