Why is it not possible to install lts kernel 6.1.57 in AKM, and why is it not upgraded using Yay?
Kernel LTS 6.1.57 is still in the Arch testing repo as soon as it hits the mainstream repo you can install it. However, if you really want it now, you should enable the testing repo and then you can download it.
AKM does show which version is in the mainstream repo and the testing repo.
Ok. I’m still learning. I want to apologize for my stupid questions.
That’s what this forum is for, learning, there are no such things as stupid questions.
Also, just to clarify, when you install linux-lts, you will always get the latest version available.
When the next major or minor version is released, linux-lts will be upgraded to that version as part of your normal system updates.
Kernel LTS 6.1.57 is now available for updating - https://archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/linux-lts/
but “manually”, not by Yay, for example ?
Just did the update with yay. This brought the kernel 6.1.57.
Only if you do not already have linux-lts installed.
If you have linux-lts installed, running yay will update you to version 6.1.57.
Not yet. Maybe it is because I’ve have Polish Mirrors ? (Selected in Welcome App – (Arch reflector-simple)
