Since last week, I have an issue which KDE Plasma which is very very slow to launch, a black screen with the KDE logo for a long time before the task bar appears.
And after several programs are not running like Gwenview as example.
I have reinstalled plasma-meta and kde-applications without improvement.
Any idea to fix the issue ?
Can you check in your system settings if the gpu is listed correctly? The issue you mentioned, i had the same experience a week or 2 ago and my gpu’s where listed as llvmpipe.
My fix was downgrading the kernel and downgrading the nvidia driver, reboot and reinstall the updates and reboot again.
I’m having issues after today’s update. I’ve had to restart the system a number of times, as the issues followed me to the SDDM login screen too, when I tried logging-out / logging-in to fix it.
Window buttons are missing on some applications and one display’s resolution tripped-over. I’m trying X11 now, but some of those window buttons are still missing 
Have you updated systemd to 258-3 as there were problems with 258-2. I don’t know if they would cause this, but it’s worth eliminating.
I did it yesterday, but no improvement.
