KDE Plasma 6.3.1 released - Hurry hurry :-)

That’s so weird, - I’ve been using an ICC profile for my Asus monitor for the last few versions, - and I’ve not had this issue (on Wayland for a while now). This was also a custom calibrated colour profile as the Asus monitor I use isn’t correctly calibrated in 120Hz. Impressive that the fix was days and not weeks. Plasma is definitely running at pace now that Valve as backing it with it being used as the platform of choice for Steam Deck.

The speed of the fix is impressive, some of the software I deal with in my job take longer for fairly urgent issues sometimes and they are paid a lot for support, well paid by the company, not by me.

Interesting someone else calibrates, not often I come across anyone who does, in linux even less so, although I have found colour profiling on linux to be superior and more consistent than on Windows. Even in my IT departments I’ve worked in no one has calibrated, none of them have even used Linux either, I usually feel like I’m the only one but maybe in my next job I will find someone.

Honestly don’t know how some people work with monitors that are clearly just washed out or not set for contrast and brightness and temp. shudder The tools (even at command line level) for calibration are exceptional, especially for fine-tuning, I’m still amazed at how much you could do with x11, and Wayland is catching up fast (almost there now).

Upgraded again, this time got no problem (on initial testing) described before. The only difference was, that I updated only Discord 1h ago (cause I needed it) and the rest of the packages now.

Not sure what went wrong the first time.

Looks like there is an updated plasma-desktop in Testing, so there should be a refresh coming by tomorrow
