KDE Gear 23.08 is coming

Current issues with KDE:

  1. Firefox/ungoogled-chromium don’t follow theme/titlebar icons so I cannot pin them to a virtual desktop to show on all desktops.

  2. I do have calendar centered, but boy was that not easy. And I don’t know if it’s permanent.

  3. Major upside is kdeconnect seems to work much better than gsconnect.

I am not sure I understand this one. Can you explain what you mean?

Err - The button in konsole will lock it to ALL virtual desktops**

Right click on the icon in the task manager.

Then either create a Window rule or use the menu for “Move to desktop”

Alternatively, you could enable the native window decorations on the browser.

I think that you’ll need to have the title bar showing in Firefox and Chromium to do this… ninjaed by @dalto

I can’t remember the setting in Chromium, but in Firefox, click the hamburger menu in the top right and then click More tools. Select Customise toolbar, and then check the Title Bar box in the bottom left corner.

Native window decorations also don’t show up either. I actually just changed then to plastik before the screen shot to help show the difference.

I will look into window rules.

Left: firefox, ungoogled-chromium
Right: konsole, discover

All on Breeze dark theme. All original icons except reversed in the proper order (close on left)

You need to enable the title bar for these two. Instructions for Firefox are in my post above.

For Chromium this might help - https://askubuntu.com/questions/1365609/how-to-enable-system-title-bar-in-chrome-to-make-it-visible-on-every-workspace

In chromium settings->appearance

Then “Use system titlebar and borders”

looks a bit like a messenger icon indeed…

This works for Chromium. . . still need to figure out firefox.

But at least I can pin baseball up and keep on working  Thank you!

Right click to the right of the address bar. Select “Customize toolbar”.

In the bottom left of the window there is a checkbox “Title bar”

Huh, that’s truly astounding man. The file system in your head is impressive. You’ve probably forgotten more things than I even know about Linux. That also works. Very odd they don’t come that way OOTB, but it looks good. Thank you!
