Issues after Plasma 6.6 update

Will it be possible for you to please use the Arch mainline kernel which happens to be 6.18.13-arch1-1 as on Feb-28 2026? And see if the issue persists?

Hi, I’ve updated to 6.6.1 but the issue seem unfixed. I wanted to give a try to KDE Neon to see if the issue persists also there but unfortunately it ships Kernel 6.17 or 6.8 which both don’t work quite well on my laptop. Also, after booting Neon with some kernel command line shenanigans KDE Login screen crashed when entering password (which is, btw, identical to what happens on Kubuntu….). I know my setup is very hostile to the Linux environment but still KDE 6.5 seemed to be way more fluent and after 6.6 update there is some minor yet noticeable stuttering.

Edit: I also tried creating a new user to see if it was caused by some config file updated from 6.5 to 6.6 but the issue was present also there.

They’re on Fedora 43.

How about using one of the LTS Kernels, 6.12.x or 6.6.x? Is it possible on Fedora?

I don’t have a single issue with kde on endeavour os. 3 of my machines are running great and are fully updated.

Relevance is EOS rocks while Fedora uses its users as guinea pig to improve products for Red Hat’s corporate customers. It charges its corporate customers but does not pay a dime to its users.

Fedora users are beta testers for corporate shills.

Unfortunately on this laptop the Kernel choice is pretty limited…Kernel 6.18 is completely unbootable while previous ones tend to take many minutes and tries to boot on this machine. I’m stuck to 6.19+ kernels or using 6.17 and 6.8.

Hi Im on Arch various problems KDE interface, noticed this say an update was out.
Just done pacman -Syyu but no sign of plasma update. Is this simply because Arch servers are testing it or?

My problems are visual icons missing and so on in tray/interfac.

Maybe your mirrors haven’t updated. You could rerank them and try updating again.

I just read in your post that icons are missing from the systray? Which icons are you using? Have you tried a different icon set?

The Icons are missing, clicking on the blank spaces still launches the actions tho.

kicker is missing icons to.

Here the lag seems fixed with Plasma 6.6.2.
