No sure why you’ve chosen flatpaks, but have you heard about Distrobox?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Distrobox
tried launching it from the terminal got this error
/app/bin/spotify: line 45: Xlib.xauth:: command not found
Does anyone know a fix for this on wayland?
See if this thread solve your issue:

I also recommending this Native Spotity Client: https://flathub.org/apps/dev.alextren.Spot (if you running Gnome).
Pretty much knows were the problem is but not sure how to fix it
flatpak run --command=xdg-open com.spotify.Client https://www.google.com
Failed to call portal: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: No such interface ?org.freedesktop.portal.OpenURI? on object at path /org/freedesktop/portal/desktop
You could try asking for help here maybe or seeing if there is an answer
