Installing Wireless HP Printer with CUPS instead of HPLIP

I’m trying to install my Wireless HP printer but HPLIP won’t detect any printer, even with firewall turned off. I have tried steps in HPLIP FAQ but no avail. I had no trouble installing the printer via System Settings > Printer but HPLIP won’t detect the installed printer.

Somehow I managed to install manually by hp-makeuri and copying the link into CUPS. Now HPLIP detects my printer.

Is there any errors should I expect with this workaround?

Maybe this helps.

I have to enter my Officejet’s IP manually in hp-setup if that is any help. hp-setup has never detected it.

I don’t have any HP printers. So I’m not going to be much help. Just trying to give some direction that maybe helps.
