Installing games from steam into /home causes crash.

First thought, your drive must have failures. It cannot even write the logs away.
Its a brand new drive, why would it have failures? I even updated the firmware after these issues and same thing. Seems like a Linux issue.
Even a brand new drive can be defective, you should test it with some drive testprogram.
Or it can be some other hardware problem.

I have not a single issue with linux and my games. I can install them, play them and so on. So no certainly not a linux issue.
