On my MBP early 2011 (Mbp 8,2), Ubuntu and MX have long been replaced with Fedora 36. Will post from that machine after the current, ongoing update finishes, @manuel …
Ok now, here’s my

If you wish for anything else, please let me know. This installation keeps running since this last June '22 without any issues. Even had Fedora Rawhide running for some weeks, before returning back to Fedora 36 by an OS downgrade.
The only thing I remember of the initial install I had to do was installing the broadcom-wl
package, to get my wifi working. All else keeps running OOTB on Fedora 36. No TLPUI needed, only mbpfan configured against too much overheating by only defining minimum fan speeds (3500RPM for both, left and right fan seems to suffice even under load).
I still have Rawhide running on my old iMac (2009) and it works ok there. Even though that machine is more troublesome in comparison to the MBP, due to more hw limitations.
What might be of some relevance here, to the OP might be this part-snippet from my inxi -Fza

This seems to show that Fedora is able to ignore the internal graphics by itself, and simply use the dedicated one? Correct me, if I’m wrong here, please @manuel.
Internal:
Intel HD Graphics 3000, 384 MB shared
Dedicated:
AMD Radeon HD 6490M, 256 MB
