Yes i did that and i tried spice-vdagent-git also but didn’t see any difference. I figured out how to get Xfce to shut off instantly and the others do also.

Nah, I’m using my VM mainly for Windows for work, so I didn’t have the opportunity to play around with kernel booting or Linux in general.
Hello @anon31549144
I installed vmware workstation pro on Windows 10 and it is very similar to Qemu/Kvm in the way it works. So now i have 3 different virtual set ups and compared them. I could install vmware workstation pro on EndeavourOS but it’s a little more complicated set up with the networking and on Windows 10 it just works out of the box. I did have it working on linux except for the networking component. Haven’t figured that out yet. I may try it some more to see if i can figure it out.
What i like about virtualbox over qemu and vmware workstation is the fact that if you set the desktop resolution on the live ISO it automatically is correct in the virtual screen once installed. You can’t do this on qemu and vmware workstation. You get a scroll bar on both and the window is only proper if you go full screen. With virtual box i still have access to the host OS because it leaves the taskbar at the bottom. The others cover the whole screen in order to make it proper. This is why i like virtual box more. Unless there is another way to get the full screen in the Window i haven’t figured it out on Qemu. No settings work to do that other than you get the scroll bar or go full screen only. They all work okay but i still prefer virtual box as my go to.
Edit: I actually just got Qemu to work with the resolution to work inside the window full screen on Solus Mate. ![]()

Okay so now i get to eat dirt because i take it all back! I got this Qemu working now just the way i like it full screen. So i can say yes it is awesome when it works like this. I’ll even go as far as saying it might be better than virtualbox. I learned some more again!
@specialworld83
I’m still a little confused with the installation because at first you said to do this. So this is needed also or just the steps below that?
sudo pacman -S spice spice-gtk spice-protocol spice-vdagent qemu-guest-agent
Procedure to follow manually
Now that’s what I’m talking about. Proper screen size! Yes!

Edit: Well it doesn’t seem to work on EndeavourOS ![]()
how do you gpu passthough
The 2 below screenshots show the settings for GPU pass through. I am assuming you want 3D acceleration.
If you are actually referring to true GPU pass through works for dual-graphic cards. See the below link for more details.
QEMU/Guest graphics acceleration
