If you don’t see the notification badge when you get a ping on Discord (that number on the taskbar icon that changes to reflect the amount of unread pings), then there is an easy fix that is outlined on the Arch Wiki. Keep in mind that the .desktop file for Discord may be in /usr/share/applications/ instead of ~/.local/share/applications/.
