I want to install and try LXQT along side KDE, says there is conflict with sddm login

Can’t say from experience what replacing will lead to, but it may well be that it’s going to result in ‘trouble’.

I’ve found that using more than 1 DE in one install may very well lead to problems.
It’s not recommended.

I notice that when installing EOS I can check multiple DE’s and it will let me. I’ve never tried, but can you install multiple DE’s and login to either at login time? I see complications because KDE uses sddm and Cinnamon uses lightdm, and gnome uses gdm. Maybe using a DE with a window manager like i3 would be possible?

Anyone using multiple desktop environment in one user?

I often hear that using different desktop environment in one user is bad and will mess up the config. But did anyone actually do it? I used to mix Gnome and XFCE in the past when gnome is still powerful, I don’t remember facing issues related to having them both installed. I wanted to try out MATE, and currently using Cinnamon. I wonder if it will be safer since they both are based on gnome.
