I deleted a config related to xorg :(

sudo nvidia-inst
[sudo] password for kd:
2023-03-23 19:50:37: Error: This program must be started as a non-root user.

hmm, i wonder why

Just the way it’s set up i guess.

Please post inxi -Ga

cool in progress

Is it finished yet?

yes but there are problems it shows error in loading kernel during boot and no display manager shows up for logging in and automatically launches me in plasma(X11) the default DE.

It’s still not showing the driver loaded. Can you log out and log in under xorg and show me again

Did you do a full install using systemd-boot? Maybe try the following again

sudo reinstall-kernels

No? what is that?

ok reinstalled

You mean the command from the last post? Did you actually run the nvidia-inst before because i don’t see the nvidia drivers loaded in the last output of inxi -Ga

What i meant was this a fresh install on systemd or is this the same install from original when you set this up and got it working eventually.

i did, it has very large output so these are the last lines of it

same one

The nvidia driver has to be loaded in inxi -Ga. I just wanted to know if you actually ran the install because it still showed N/A.

hmm, so now what to do?

inxi -Ga

Can you remember what settings you had in deleted config file?
(Tip: if any instructions say delete files, then it probably is useful to backup the files first.)

nvidia-inst has option --conf that generates the config file, but it might not contain the settings you need.

yeah had saved the files, when the shit hit the fan I put it back same is it was. the 6th step in of this article

lemme see with nvidia-inst

Edit- and also how the display manager problem, it doesn’t load up during it just lets me without login

during boot it also error: failed to start Load Kernel Modules

Package mesa was very recently updated, that might cause problems. Worth trying to downgrade (until it updates again) if that helps.

Did you remove/uninstall optimus-manager?

@linesma knows this package very well, he might find some time to help you.

FWIW, it is not easy for low experience users to install and configure optimus-switch properly.
Additionally, it is out of pacman control :person_shrugging: .
I would not suggest it for not experienced users. Maybe fix the issues with your previous solutions.
