I am using dual boot from flash stick. Is it possible to hybernate let’s say on a laptop and then boot from the swap on another laptop? It doesn’t work for me by default. The system always boots fresh and when I want to hybernate on the second laptop, there are some conflict warnings before the system shuts down. Is this safe? Can it be fixed?
I personally would not use jump sticks to run an OS from.
I would say it’s not possible for many reasons, but the most obvious one to me would be the fact that a different machine is going to have different hardware in it.
A booted OS will go to sleep expecting to come back to the exact same hardware, removable devices can be hand waved because of their nature but CPU, motherboard chipsets, etc will all be different and it has no idea how to handle that because it’s not a thing that’s supposed to happen to a running system.
