How to switch from Antergos to EndevourOS

wget https://github.com/endeavouros-team/mirrors/releases/download/mirror2/endeavouros-mirrorlist-1-10-any.pkg.tar.xz

sudo pacman -U endeavouros-mirrorlist-1-10-any.pkg.tar.xz

wget was missing in my command…

Last step still failed:
yay: signature from “Antergos Build Server (Automated Package Build System) admin@antergos.org” is unknown trust

So close…

However, pacman-key -refresh-keys produced some errors, but I thought it was something to expect…

Error also complains about PGP signature…

Of course you have to comment out the antergos lines in pacman.conf (you should have done that months ago).

Thanks @axt, I will try that. Sorry that I need so much guidance. This is something I haven’t done earlier…

Oh no, now it failed because it wanted to update pacman on the way…! I suppose that can be prevented…?
:: installing pacman (5.2.1-1) breaks dependency ‘pacman<5.2’ required by pamac

Are there any other lines relating to Antergos than those three lines to be removed? I mean those three lines I just added for EOS…? In pacman.conf, I mean.

pamac is causing trouble, so uninstall it for now…

…and uninstall kalu.

And how to install ‘yay’ then?

Yay is in the EndeavourOS repository, do you have that set up in /etc/pacman.conf?
If yes, can you show the exact output from when you try install yay?

The command is:
sudo pacman -Syy yay

Ok, thanks a lot all of you. After removing pamac, everything worked. However, install yay updated also pacman. But yay is now installed. I will continue tomorrow with @joekamprad’s message 51 or was it 52.
Good job!

Maybe you need to update your system fully?
yay -Syyu

Can I do it before completing @joekamprad’s long procedure?

yes system must be up to date !

Seems to go smoothly now. Thanks!
Hopefully the PC reboots without issues… so that I can continue tomorrow.

Today I completed all the other steps in @joekamprad’s long instructions. It all went well and the system seemed stable. The only thing visually missing was the theme. The background was all white. What are the recommended themes for EOS?

arc-gtk-theme and arc-x-icons-theme
