How to remove duplicate plasma panel?

I’ve got two plasma panels on the desktop. . . one is my ‘original’ and another one that ended up on

the desktop screen inadvertently. . . How do you delete the additional one?

Stupid me. . . keyboards can screw up your brain.

Rich

Select the panel you want to delete by clicking on it with right side mouse button > Select Show Panel Configuration >

This really sucks. . . . I don’t have the ‘delete panel’ ‘close panel’ ‘or exit edit mode’ at the bottom

of the screen. . .

Rich

Did you click on top of the panel with the right mouse button and select “Show Panel Configuration”?

I some how have the widgets running on another panel and I can’t close that panel or edit and remove it. . . on top of that I’m messing up my original panel in the process. . .

Talk about multitasking software this is an operator mess up . . .

Rich

Sorry I can’t help you more. I’m sure it’s a simple thing.

Plasma ‘help’ menu doesn’t get to the issue like it should. . . maybe ‘AI’ here would be good?

Rich

Simple. . . . that best describes the headache. . .

Rich

Did you tried to restart Plasma and try again?

systemctl --user restart plasma-plasmashell.service

I’ll give that a try. . . . I did get rid of my ‘widgets’ panel on the screen. . . . . don’t ask me how I did it. I don’t think I can retrace my steps on that one. . . . . you can really mess up your desktop. I wish that there would be better documentation 'i.e. ‘help’ using plasma keeping your desktop straight when things go awry.

Rich

I have to go… Wife.sh issue

There is always the nuke option:

kquitapp6 plasmashell
rm ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc
kstart plasmashell

It will reset your desktop layout.

Hopefully you’ll figure it out without resorting to this option… but hey, sometimes the best way forward is to start with a clean slate.

I deleted my panel and restarted the plasma-plasmashell.service. My new panel is working now. . . like it should. What a major headache. . . . I’ve gone full circle on this one and my brain is scrambled like eggs. . . . . glad it’s back up to the original state now. . .

Be careful what shell scripts you run on your system
