How to play 4:3 games without it being stretched?

It’s that time again that I begin to question whether my decision to install Linux is the right one or not (lol joking… or am I?)

I play old games like Morrowind and KOTOR1, while I can play Morrowind with OpenMW and use 1080p resolution? Why would I? When I can crank down the resolution to 800x600p just the way god intend us to play.

The problem is, with Gnome’s Wayland, 4:3 resolution stretched from side to side.

I want the black pillar box, in ye old bad Microsoft windows 10/11 this can be solved by simply ticking an option in Driver Software, which Linux does not have.

So, anybody know how to do it?
