I had an insight into me today.
You know the old meme in tiling WM, where they say you have created a perfect environment to edit your tiling configuration vs doing real work?
Well, I think my spin is I have created the (aspiring) perfect environment to REINSTALL distros. lol Truly hadn’t thought of that…but that’s about what I’ve done.
It’s not that I can’t keep them running stable (I certainly can), it’s that I just enjoy fresh clean starts and reinstalling/retooling. I have it down pretty good ;0
Got only eos my wife manjaro xd
I vm i try different distro
Currently: Only one, manual base Arch system.
In the past I have had Arch and OpenBSD (If this counts for a temporary server) installed.
Not very adventurous with distros as I tested around 10 different ones and all DM types and other versions just before starting Linux and picking a first distro so I have a rough idea for many of the non-arch based ones but I wouldn’t mind testing others again since my knowledge has increased a lot since last year, but right now I can’t give up Arch based distro benefits (Benefits for my use case).
All of mine run Endeavour, except for my main server and my klipper laptop which run LMDE. My laptop also has an install of LMDE for recovery purposes and is also no encrypted and set as the primary boot so if my laptop does get taken a general noob will think that is my main OS and not try to sift though my important crap. I tried once to dual-boot Endeavour with no luck, so I just stuck with LMDE. Works great and updates fast so might as well keep it. Plus with chroot I never have to actually boot into it to update it once a week.
Debian Stable, Debian Unstable, and EndeavourOS, all running Openbox window manager and Tint2 panel. Contemplating trying out Salix (a Slackware derivative) in the future.
Only one EOS. If i have any other distro installed it is installed on it’s own or dual boot Windows. The same goes for vm. I don’t have a bunch of vm’s installed to use just like i don’t have a bunch of distro’s installed as well as not having a bunch of ISO’s on a usb drive. I only use vm’s for testing or to try out a new or different distro. I use usb as a medium to install or transfer a file or files. That’s it!
EOS is the best.
The one and onlly EOS. By far the best for now unless something better comes along.
