# How come it takes more than a minute to shutdown or reboot the system?

Hi @unix_lover  
I had the same issue before. Look at this thread [Restarting -\> stop job for user running!](https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/restarting-stop-job-for-user-running/32893)

I did the `Magic SysRq key`. At least it helped to shut down instantly the proper way.  
Though I do not really know what caused it, but I rarely encounters it after that and if it did the `Magic SysRq key` helps.
