Finally there it is

That doesn’t work with a virtual machine in Virtualbox. That will switch the host computer to TTY3.

In a Virtualbox VM, you use Right CTRL instead of CTRL+ALT.

That’s why, for example, kitty isn’t installed on the VM; it’s being installed via TTY on the host machine.

Use RIGHT CTRL + F3 on the VM.

The Actual default config:

Where you can see that foot is the default term and default launcher is wmenu-run

That I didn’t know.

Also if the suggestion of @Stagger_Lee does not work out, maybe just install foot and try using it as a terminal. Maybe kitty simply can’t open for some reason.

Yeah I changed it manually from the original config file store in /etc/sway/config I just wanted to changfe the terminal foot with kitty and the launcher with wofi

Well it worked for me for some reason to do ctrl+alt+f3 but yeah the problem is still not changing I’download the basic packages for sway for the launcher and terminal maybe that’s the problem

Remember, anything you’ve done in a TTY up to this point you’ve done on the host machine, not the VM. If you’ve installed anything through a TTY (using CTRL+ALT+F3) you’ve been installing to the host computer.

Oh, so to remove those I installed on my host computer do I just remove all packages through TTY ?

And finally the terminal opened I just downloaded the basic terminal and wmenu and it seems to work

Yes, you can switch to the host TTY and remove what you’ve installed.
