Hello everyone, I’m Elco from Middelburg, Holland. After trying several Linux distros, I was able to get my old Sony Vaio laptop working properly again. I’m very impressed with Endeavor OS and hope to learn more about using this beautiful system soon.
So I will regularly ask a question in this forum, I think.
Started in the early 90’s with DOS 5 to now Windows 11.
In addition, the Linux distro’s Ubuntu, Mint, MX Linux, Zorin ect.
Hi and welcome to EOS and the forums. No problem if you have questions, I will try to help if I can but I am fairly new to Linux too in terms of using it full time.
I have a a SONY VAIO laptop I run EndeavourOS on, and I run EOS on all of my computers (4 in total)!
MY VAIO (SVE14A27CXH) has an intel i7-3632QM (Quad core) @ 2.2GHz to 3.2GHz which is removable and can be upgraded, as can the RAM which I did upgrade from 8GB to 16GB DDR. It has a dedicated AMD Radion HD 7670M Graphics card as well. I did replace the huge for the time 1TB hard disk drive for a 1TB SSD and that alone woke it up big time, and now it runs excellent and stable with EOS, which is perfect for all of my needs, even on the go.
VAIO’s were radical, and Sony had some great ideas and vision I wish they would have expanded on! Too bad Sony doesn’t make computers anymore.
