Hmm, i used pacman to update via chroot, it did something… because rysnc failed twice, i couldn’t access timeshift yesterday when attempting a rollback, so i think it broke. Then did grub-install again, restarted, got out of memory on a black screen, pressed enter, got boot selection via EoS/grub /IDK and now i am in my system…
I am in, but i am pretty sure things are broken, i will attempt a recheck or something on all packages especially timeshift and see if i have to update kernel, i don’t know if pacman -Syu does that…
If i don’t return here, then it’s fixed.
EDIT: Everything is updated and working, except that “out of memory” screen before boot selection. Increases the time to boot on it’s own but… fine for now.
Hello. I’ve suffered the “grub problem” too, but…
First, I’ve readed the “transparency in grub problem” post BEFORE update. I did grub-install after update, and grub loaded ok, but I got “error 452 range…”. Then I chroot, step by step across the tutorial in my btrfs file system, then grub-install, mkinitcpio -P, grub mk… no success.
Then I went the efibootmgr way, delete my old garuda entry in EFI partition, and no success.
Then I went into the BIOS and choose an entry that reads “EndeavourOS”, so change the “default UEFI” in my primary disk, that was working until now. Eureka! It works.
Well, I’m back on bussiness now, but… The booting process is way slower now. It takes more to get to grub menu, and it takes more time to get to login dialog. It was blazing fast before… Someone guess what is happening?
Its bit confused some fixed by managing te entries znd some not… someone had 7 endeavout entries… issues is bit variabled… i cleaned up his entries error seems gone sometimes is to go to bios
This is getting ridiculous, i updated one time yesterday after i got it working, today again no boot into my system. I repeat everything i did yesterday to get it back working and it’s not working. It’s either that ANY -Syu usage breaks it, or it just breaks on it’s own…
Okay i didn’t touch ANYTHING after my last message, in which i chrooted into the system, updated and grub-installed. I did a restart went into bios, used force boot to use EoS, first time it dropped me back into bios, and second it shown the same NOT working EoS boot menu, then switched to the colorful working one and i am in…
Aftter the bad update my laptop froze in Firmware and I can’t boot at all no matter what media I use. I specify the boot-up source as USB (the live EOS USB), but all I get is a restart with BIOS screen. No matter what Idid it always ends up in BIOS setup screen. Could anybody help me ?
