Below is readout from journalctl that may show the error that caused a green screen crash
might anyone recognize what is causing the crash?
The green screen crashes you’re seeing are actually a well-known symptom with AMD-based GPUs that can have many different causes Arch Linux Forums These crashes are typically GPU-related issues, not bootloader issues. Common causes include:
GPU driver issues - particularly with AMD GPUs and the amdgpu kernel module
Power management problems - DisplayPort issues, insufficient power delivery
Hardware errors - faulty cables, GPU problems, or even CPU-related MCE (Machine Check Exception) errors
Kernel compatibility - sometimes resolved by kernel updates or downgrades

Wondering if you have amdgpu set up and some of the optional stuff configured such as vulkan-radeon and corresponding 32 bit lib files and also setting up accelerated video decoding and verifying that it is working through vainfo and vdpauinfo.
I see it looks like your UEFI Bios is fairly recent. You could check if there is any newer version.
Adjust CPU voltage/Curve Optimizer in BIOS: Green screens in conjunction with MCE events can indicate that your CPU requires slightly higher voltage for stability at peak frequencies.
Enter your motherboard’s BIOS/UEFI settings.
Navigate to the AMD Overclocking or Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) menu.
Experiment with the Curve Optimizer settings. You may need to slightly increase the voltage for specific cores to ensure stability.
Address potential GPU-specific issues:
If the crash occurs during gaming or graphically intensive tasks, it might be a bug in the amdgpu driver or an application’s specific rendering method (e.g., specific anti-aliasing settings like MSAA).
Some users report that the issue disappears if they disable certain power management features like Panel Self Refresh (PSR) by adding amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x12 to their kernel parameters.
The other issue can be power supply being insufficient but this looks like a newer Thelio from System76 so I’m sure it has what’s needed.
